Overview
Visiting Hours
Family members and other visitors are welcome anytime, as our visiting hours in the hospital are not limited. However, please remember our patients are in the hospital for healing and rest. In consideration of the patient and any roommates, visitors should plan their stays to be considerate of the patients' needs. To avoid spreading contagious illnesses (like colds or the flu), we ask that friends and family who feel ill please not visit patients in the hospital.
Flu Prevention: Stop, Gel & Mask
To prevent the spread of infection while visiting the hospital and clinics, please put gel your hands and put on a face mask if you have a cough, fever or flu-like symptoms. Tell us if you have been traveling and to where. If you are a visitor and you are ill, please postpone your visit until you have been well for 48-hours. Read our Fight the Flu fact sheet.
Waiting Areas
There are special waiting areas throughout the hospital for your family and friends with facilities for connecting to the Internet.
After-Hours Security
To ensure the safety of our patients and staff, we have a special system for visitors entering the main hospital at night. After 9 p.m. all visitors must enter the hospital through the Emergency & Trauma Center located on the first floor of the South Tower. The other entrances to the hospital re-open at 5 a.m.
Cell Phone Use
For the safety of patients and to ensure the integrity of medical devices, cell phones must be turned off prior to entering patient care areas. If you must use your cell phone, please make sure you are in a public area, and always more than five feet from any medical equipment.
