All proceeds help establish the new David and Shelley Hovind Heart & Vascular Center

Bellevue, WA – Overlake  Medical Center Auxiliaries are hosting the 2013 Bandage Ball gala and auction on Saturday, March 16 at the Hyatt Regency Bellevue. All proceeds from the event will be used to help establish the new David and Shelley Hovind Heart & Vascular Center, , which will take the hospital’s level of patient service to new heights by bring all testing and therapeutic services together in one location.

“The Bandage Ball is one of the Eastside’s premier events, bringing together community members who want to ensure that Overlake can continue to provide first class health and wellness care to all. We are thrilled to be able to direct the dollars raised this year to our new Heart and Vascular Center.” said Molly Stearns, Overlake’s vice president of fund development and executive director of the foundation and auxiliaries. “Overlake is already the only hospital on the Eastside to perform open heart surgery but even so, the brand new Center will be a significant upgrade to the current heart and vascular services at Overlake and will greatly enhance the patient experience.”

The new Heart & Vascular Center will bring Overlake’s cardiac and vascular services together to create one state-of-the-art facility that offers the most advanced equipment and technology available. The new Center will enable more real-time collaboration between physicians, will facilitate consultation between physicians, patients, and their families, and will improve overall access to care.

This year’s Bandage Ball will feature dinner, dancing, and an auction. The theme of this year’s event is  And the Beat Goes On, with items including wonderful vacation packages, certificates to some of the eastside’s finest restaurants, wine, sports and entertainment items and unique experiences such as a personal styling session and a cocktail party along the shores of Lake Washington aboard a 64’ yacht. .

The Overlake Medical Center Auxiliaries’ Bandage Ball is the largest fundraising event of the year to benefit Overlake with millions of dollars raised over the years. Last year alone the event raised more than $800,000, all of which was used to help fund the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit that opened in November.
