Overlake Hosts Learn and Live Well Cancer Prevention Event in Issaquah

Bellevue, Wash. – Overlake Hospital Medical Center is hosting a health and wellness event called Learn and Live Well designed to highlight the number of ways people can prevent cancer and other chronic diseases through smart lifestyle choices. The free event will be held on Saturday, June 11, from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Eastridge Church, 24205 SE Issaquah-Fall City Road in Issaquah.

 Zonya Foco, RD

The event includes keynote speaker Zonya Foco, RD, a nationally recognized author, speaker and television host who will teach attendees how to Fight Cancer with Your Fork. Foco will offer tips on cancer-fighting foods, and share how to select and prepare them for optimum health and well-being. Additional wellness seminars will be presented by experts from Overlake and the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance. The presentations include:

  • Making time: A beginner’s guide to meditation for reducing stress and improving health.
  • Don’t make it a marathon: Tips and techniques for making exercise easy.

The event will also feature an “Ask the doc” booth, free food samples, giveaways and more.

Preregistration is not required, however all attendees who preregister will automatically be entered into a special prize drawing at the event. Winners must be present to win. Preregister online or by calling 425-688-5259.
